Another Light Study

Another Light Study

I suppose I am interested, above all, in investigating the golden ability of the artist to achieve a metamorphosis of quite ordinary things into something wonderful and extraordinary...   - Eduardo Paolozzi

I'm certainly not arrogantly saying that I achieved that with this painting, but it is a goal to strive for.

Study of Light

"Light is a thing that cannot be reproduced, but must be represented by something else – by color."  - Paul Cezanne

Sunday Morning Sketches

These are sketches that were created on the iPad during Sunday school or in church.
I would attempt to reassure Eric that his sermons are quite interesting, but he's not reading this anyway.

Construction Paper Flowers

Just to take a break from drawing:

Flowers Rebecca made of construction paper for the 6 year old's party. It's going to be fun!

GG and Papa's Playroom

Digital painting on iPad

In the house of Papa Hall,
Up the stairs that curl up tall
Waits a room that on the wall,
Reads our names, both big and small.

It is a room that is our own
Where our imagination roams.
Escape the ones that are all grown--
In this home-away-from-home.

Every kind of book and toy
Whatever kind of ploy---
Fun for a girl or a boy
We find limitless joy.

Magical fun and plans so grand
Made with the help of Papa's hand.
Time so free and so unplanned---
We're off to GG's Wonderland.

Three More Pear Tree Leaves

6" x 6" Oil on Masonite - The remaining three pear tree paintings were not originally meant to be hung together but it just seems to fit.

And I love the painterly textures that can be achieved with bristle brushes and oils....

Pear Tree Leaves

20" x 12" Oil on Masonite - My daughter and I gathered up some interesting still life subjects from the back yard. This is one of four resulting paintings.
