Marble Statue Renderings

These are conceptual paintings of statues for our clients that will be hand carved out of Carrara Marble in Italy. The sculptor will follow these paintings as closely as possible. Hand carved statues are expensive and we all want to make sure there are no surprises.

If you have Google Earth I would highly recommend flying over to Carrara Massa, Italy, where this stone is quarried.

The name "Carrara" likely comes from the Celtic term "Kar" meaning "stone" therefore: “car+aria” means “place of stones” .

Carrara marble has been used since the time of Ancient Rome; the Pantheon and Trajan's Column in Rome are constructed of it. Many sculptures of the Renaissance, such as Michelangelo's David, were carved from Carrara marble.

The final carvings of these statues will be of varying sizes; the one above for instance measures 10 feet tall and will be installed at a catholic church in the Houston area.

  2. Joel,
I've recently moved to a new church and hung your paintings in my new office. Many have commented on them. You have admirers that you've never met.
    Thank you for your work.
